Who is the qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at practising electricians interested in understanding how to design and install the range of electric vehicle charging equipment and systems available. It aims to provide expert guidance to learners wishing to gain further knowledge and understanding of electric vehicle charging equipment design and installation.

Course Duration: 2 Days (16 hours)
Cost: £340 + VAT (registration costs is £65 per delegate)
Exam Re-Sit: £100 + VAT (registration cost is £10 per delegate)

Content

  • Understanding requirements relating to electric vehicle charging equipment.
  • Understand different types and features of electric vehicle charging equipment.
  • Designing an installation for electric vehicle charging equipment.
  • Understand requirements for inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover of electric vehicle charging equipment and circuits.
  • Understand the use of vehicles as electrical energy storage systems as part of prosumer’s installations.

Course Pre-Requisites/Entry Requirements

This course is intended for practicing electricians as part of the assessment for this qualification. Learners must hold one of the following and supply a copy prior to the start of the course:

  • 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
  • 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
  • 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification
  • 2356 Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker
  • 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
  • Other Awarding Organisations equivalences will also be acceptable
  • Equivalent historical qualifications or ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card

If the above qualification is more than 5 years old then delegates must show an 18th Edition Qualification to show they are up to date with the latest regulations.

Course Structure/Assessment Method

Day 1 – Classroom based theory session
Day 2 – Classroom theory based session

Both days may include some practical elements purely for the tutor to show delegates features etc and how to test the EV equipment etc

Assessment is via the following, both undertaken on day 2:

Online Multiple Choice Exam

  • 45 minutes
  • 28 questions
  • Pass mark 75%

Short answer and scenario based questions

  • 90 minutes
  • 20 questions
  • Pass mark 75%
